The Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club was chartered on June 24, 1977. The first president was Don Spoonheim. The Club meets at The Holiday Inn – Mount Pleasant, 250 Johnnie Dodds Boulevard on Wednesdays at 12:30 P.M. This club sponsored a new Rotary Club, the East Cooper Rotary Club, in 1996. The club was designated under 501(C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a Public Charity effective September 21, 2010.
