Rotary's community development programs address many of today's most critical issues - - hunger, the environment, literacy, to name a few. RI also offers programs that focus primarily on young people, including service clubs for high school students and young adults, leadership training workshops, and student exchanges.

The neediest students will now be sent home with nutritious food thanks to the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club which is committed to raising $50,000 over the next two years to make sure kids don’t go home for the weekend without healthy foods and snacks.

Our club along with the East Cooper Breakfast club are sponsoring a project called "Happy Feet". This project will provide new shoes for needy school children East of the Cooper. This program will be done once a year in October at the local Payless Shoe Store at the Wando Crossing Center.

The award is for Area 8 being the only Area out of 16 Areas in the District where each of the 5 Rotary Clubs achieved both their Foundation Club Goal and Foundation Challenge Goal. The Mt Pleasant Club achieved 195% of their Club Goal for the Rotary
